Bitzbox Chapter: Librarian Dreadnought and Death Company

Posted by Bitzbox

I've had these painted up for a while not but haven't got round to updating the blog. These Death Company and the Librarian Dreadnought are the latets additions to the Bitzbox Chapter. I do plan on adding more Death Company in the future.

Bitzbox Chapter: Assault Squad and Sanguinary Guard

Posted by Bitzbox

I have completed the first two squads for the Bitzbox Blood Angels Chapter. They are an Assault squad and a Sanguinary Guard squad. I will be adding more units of assault squads and Sanguinary Guard to the army as well as various other units over the next few months but in the meantime I hope you enjoy these.

Chaos Knight of Khorne Conversion

Posted by Bitzbox

I have finally finished my Chaos Knight of Khorne. I wanted to do this conversion as soon as I heard the Knights were being released and although I'm disappointed that Chaos cannot field them currently, this was always going to be a model that was just for show.

I'm not a huge fan of copying other people's conversion ideas directly but after seeing a couple of people put warshrines on the back of their chaos knights I thought it was too good of an idea to not replicate. It certainly adds significant height to my Chaos Knight of Khorne. Other parts I used for this conversion included the head and axe arm from the Khorne Lord of Skulls. I used a couple of armour plates from the plastic defiler kit as well as some chaos icons here and there. The Khorne icons on his shin plates were made from green stuff.

Crimson Fist Sternguard Squad

Posted by Bitzbox

The first 5 of my Crimson Fist Sternguard Space Marine Squad are finally completed. There's so much detail on these models, even more so than their metal/finecast predecessors which meant they took a while for me to paint them. I'm happy with the results though.

The 'facepalm' marine required no conversion work apart from a tiny amount of greenstuff on his wrist.

Convertered Chaos Obliterator

Posted by Bitzbox

I've been going through the nurgle contingent of my Chaos Space Marine army and I've decided to start expanding on it to get to 2000 points.  I'm starting this expansion with some Obliterators. I wanted to something different from the regular chaos obliterators to make them look more Nurgle. I had a spare Chaos Spawn left over from my squad which I decided to use as a base. A few terminator parts, a havoc missile launcher, chaos heavy bolter, plasma gun and a lot of green stuff later I came up with this.

I painted him up to match the rest of my Nurgle themed models.

Ork Skullhammer Battle Fortress

Posted by Bitzbox

With the release of Apocalypse I was reminded about a model I made nearly 4 years ago for 40K Radio's Toys for Tots charity auction. This is an Ork Skullhammer Battle Fortress converted from bits from an Imperial Guard Baneblade and Ork Stompa.

Scrap Challenge: A Duel

Posted by Bitzbox

Over the weekend I sponsored and took part in (just for fun) a scrap challenge event at my friendly local game store, Boundless Realms. This was hopefully the first of many Bitzbox sponsored events at the store and it was very enjoyable. The theme for this Scrap Challenge was to create a Duel. If you're not familiar with how a scrap challenge work you basically have a load of random bits in the middle of the table and you have to use bits to make a conversation based on a specific theme. I took several photos on the day, including all the participants entries which were all amazing.

Two of the store owners and myself judged the competition but we couldn't help having a go ourselves. Below are our entries.

My very basic attempt has an Orc stabbing an Ogre through the neck

A duel doesn't always have to be a fight, how about some checkers?

And now onto everyone else's entries:

All of which are excellent duels as I'm sure you would agree. After much deliberation we narrowed it down to a final three. In third place was this 'duel' which consists of three space marines playing Rock, Paper, Scissors.

Now we move onto the final two. I don't know how long we were mulling over who should win out of these. It felt like days but in reality it was probably 15 minutes. It was close and the store owners were kind enough to give a second place prize as it was so close. So in second place we have this one. I love the poses of the guys on the base.

There of course could only be one winner and I think this one deserved it. I really like how the assault marine is jumping down towards the Ork. The Ork himself is also really awesome and looks boss with a Chaos Lord lightning claw.

Warhammer 40,000 City Board: A Guided Tour

Posted by Bitzbox

So I've got all the buildings in place on my city board. They are all painted apart from the tower in the middle which I will paint and base at a later date. I thought I would make a video showing you guys around the city. In the future I may add a few small details here and there and also I plan on doing a couple of battle reports in the future too.

I hope you all enjoy the video.
